Before color televisions, before self-cleaning ovens, before microwaves, VCRs and DVDs, Manfred and Helen Lindow opened their doors with just six appliances: two refirgerators, one freezer, one gas range, one washer and one dryer. Fifty years later, Lindow's is still going strong in association with the Huntington family and seventeen other service, sales and delivery folks—and over 800 appliances on hand!
Their middle son Gene joined the family business twenty-six years ago and has now assumed many of the business's responsibilities. He watched the business grow out of the original 1900 square foot building into today's 20,000 square foot store, and participated in joining Brand Source (a twelve billion dollar buying group) that allpws Lindow's to compete on an even footing with the box stores without ever having to compromise inventory selection, sales, delivery or installation. Lindow's Appliances is proud to be a landmark of stability, quality and service for the Marengo area.
From March 22, 2008 through April 19, 2008 Lindow's Appliances will be celebrating their 50th anniversary, a milestone in business history, with a storewide sale on all appliances, televisions, LaZBoy recliners, sofas, Simmons and Tempurpedic mattresses.
